During the disaster happened, every people in Indonesia like victim, citizen around the affected/hostile area, till government needs a lot of information. As usual, when the disaster was happening, the victims want to know their family, the evacuation area or evacuation route, and also the lists of crisis centers to fulfill their needs. Not only victim, but media houses and governmental sector who are involved in disaster’s rescue and restoration also need huge information to map the affected area. So, the media can publish it on their own media and government can instruct and decide something from the factual information. To make it fast, accounted, and based on facts, National Disaster Management Authority or known as BNPB gather a huge number of journalists, civil servants in governmental sectors and also every board who are responsible to the disaster management in a WhatsApp Group called Medkom Bencana. As long as writer knows, till today there are 7 groups of Medkom Bencana which were created by BNPB. In order to know the reason of creating Medkom Bencana, the information are accepted, classified, and shared by BNPB, and the processing of gather information directly from disaster area, the writer interviewed Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, as man behind of this successful model of “single door” of natural disaster information. This is the highest elevation in the Dam operation record since 1999. The increase in elevation has caused managers to carry out an early warning system and open the spillway that have affected floods in the Gowa Regency area. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the forms of emergency preparedness and response communication carried out by the Balai Besar Wilayah Sungai Pompengan Jeneberang (BBWSPJ) as the manager of the Bili-Bili Dam in dealing with the effects of hazards during an increase in TMA. The type of research used is qualitative with a case study approach using in-depth interviews and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that communication planning for handling TMA has been prepared in the Emergency Action Plan. Preparedness communication was carried out when there was an indication that the TMA was moving up at elevation +99.45 (Normal) on January 21, 2019 by starting to operate a warning system through verbal notification using loudspeakers to the downstream community that the spillway would be opened. The development of the tourism sector in the upstream area of Pekalongan Regency such as Petungkriono Subdistrict is vulnerable to the damage of natural ecosystems if it does not receive extra attention from policy makers. On the other hand this area has enormous potential to be developed into a leading tourist attraction with selling points on natural beauty which includes mountain waterfalls, cultural heritage and local wisdom such as ancient cultural heritage sites of the local community, as well as local products such as coffee - Ants-potatoes - black rice for agricultural products. This area can be managed by preparing comprehensive policies and careful planning, so that it can bring benefits to the local community and also develop the image of Pekalongan district. The scope of tourism is chosen because tourism is an industrial sector that is quick yielding and opens up new opportunities for the tourism industry in the Lake Toba region, which has only focused on nature tourism. The approach used in this study is a Cultural Resources Management (CRM) with the mindset that traditional weaving and inheritance aspects are aimed at empowering the economy in order to provide sustainable community benefits. The analysis was carried out qualitatively with an ethnographic study approach. This study seeks to see and reveal whether traditional weaving-based cultural tourism has economic value, because it contains the concept of preservation and cultural inheritance, economics, education, and based on community empowerment. This research also see the weaving potential mapped in its distribution correlated with tourist objects that have been seeded by the North Tapanuli Regional Government resulting in clusters that can be developed into tourism packages oriented to market demand, without ignoring the empowerment of local communities. Although weaving is believed to be able to increase the tourism market in Sibandang Island, there are still a number of obstacles, namely in the fields of promotion, strengthening of weaving crafts, and the creation of tourism conscious communities. This study is focusing “What are Twitter functions during a natural disaster in Indonesia?”. The research uses the qualitative method with an online observation from Twitter between August to December 2018. Disaster communication research is important because it could help governance and NGO to have a better understanding of Twitter’s functional framework before making an impactful policy. The findings showed that there are several Twitter functions during the three most current disaster in 2018, namely, showing organizational and individual support, organizing donations, coordinating for rescue efforts, sharing and combating false news, displaying amateur analysis, also gathering additional information. Many forms of media in diverse information display, allow audiences to get information richly and from various perspectives. This is made possible by the development of technology that also includes the development of media and the emergence of new media such as online media to provide information with a wider range than the previous era without new media. Media ecology was triggered by McLuhan based on the statement "medium is the message" and McLuhan viewed that a media and message cannot be separated, they are unity. Based on literature review of journals and online media, it can be said that media acts as a message is received by the public as important information and become a part of their daily lives. In analysing this, the aim of the campaign and Malaysian Netizens’ awareness of the #CampurLGBT campaign are also investigated. The AIDA model for marketing communications and advertising is used to discover to what extent Malaysian Netizens are engaged with the campaign. Netizens’ response to the campaign, such as their comments, discussions and even pictures posted under the hashtag #CampurLGBT, are analysed to also determine how the campaign may influence their views on the LGBT lifestyle. This study finds that despite the campaign being successful in recruiting followers and supporters of the movement, the number of those supporting it is relatively small compared with those who are against it. This is mainly because those who responded to the campaign are mostly concerned with the practice being prohibited in Islam. LGBT is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender yet another term that is worrying among parents in Malaysia as it become increasing in our community day by day. In social media like Instagram and Facebook, we can see that LGBT community become more aggressive to show their movements and clearly want to be as a role model to other people. This situation might influence our children’s behavior and thought. Thus, this paper aim to study on social media exposure among children leads to growing numbers of LGBT community in Malaysia. This research uses Social Network Analysis (SNA) with the help of Ucinet and NetDraw software. To determine the popularity and factors that encourage the use of SNS, SNA which is equipped with network visualization based on the 2-mode network is applied. The used graph layout type is graph theoretic layout with centrality measures of degree centrality and closeness centrality. The number of respondents was 372 respondents consisting of 190 male and 182 female who filled online questionnaires through Google form for two weeks in December 2018. There was a difference in popularity ranking of SNS viewed from a gender perspective. The popularity ranking of SNS based on degree centrality regardless of gender is Line, Whatsapp, Instagram, Google+, and Facebook. The popularity ranking for female is Whatsapp, Line, Instagram, Google+, and Twitter. The popularity ranking from the male perspective is Line; Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, and Google. The types of virtual communities that are most widely followed based on their objectives are lectures groups and alumni groups. Male are subsequently more likely to belong to a special group on hobbies or interests while female are more likely to be in extramural groups/ organizations. The main factors which encourage students to join virtual communities consist of two categories: utilitarian motivation and hedonic motivation. Batik as a cultural artifact is flexible and dynamic as media to express and as a local wisdom symbolization that Indonesian people are able to communicate visually and effectively. Girilayu as a batik center in the mountainous area of Karanganyar regency, Central Java, Indonesia is chosen as this research location since batik artists in this area are capable in visualizing community’s local wisdom in contemporary batik motif, i.e. <em>mbok semok.</em> This study aims at (i) outlining the concept of communication and environmental conservation media through <em>Mbok Semok </em>batik motif, (ii) elaborating philosophical role of <em>Mbok Semok </em>batik motif functions as communication and environmental conservation media by batik artists in Girilayu, and (iii) analyzing the role of <em>Mbok Semok </em>batik motif as effective communication and environmental conservation media in Girilayu. In addition, the method used in this research is visual cultural study with ethnographic approach. Moreover, research analysis is enriched with referential documentation resulting in the finding that visual language in <em>Mbok Semok </em>batik motif can communicate Girilayu community’s moral value in preserving the environment through the philosophical meanings of its motifs to their younger generation and visitors of this batik center. Empirical analysis based on data collected from followers of @explorebandung, @explorejogja and @explorebali Instagram accounts of 400 respondents. The theory used in this study is the social information processing theory. Findings indicated that destination image, novelty seeking, and information quality on Instagram partially or simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on the visiting intention variable, with a fairly strong correlation value. Instagram, which is a new media, can be used as a trendy tool in digital tourism. The media news company on Instagram is considered effective if it's already known, interesting and has many followers. The purpose of this study was to explore the power relations related to the dominance of Chinese ethnic in the area of Tuban City related to the existence of Chinatown in the square symbolized by Tri Dharma Temple Tjoe Ling Kiong. The assumption is that the existence of a cultural symbol of the Chinese nation in the center of Tuban City basically communicates the power of cultural identity in shaping the identity of the city. This research is an explorative qualitative study using the method of social semiotics and refers to the concept of Representation from Stuart Hall and Episteme from Foucault. The results of the study showed how the power relations that emerged from the presence of the temple on the North side of the Square of Tuban City communicated the episteme ups and downs of the ethnic Chinese in the landscape of the power structure of Tuban City. Chinese ethnic conditions in the landscape of the power structure received a different distribution of power when the ruling regime was different. This study aims to reveal in depth the process of establishing transparent organizational communication in the Government of Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Province, Indonesia.</p><p>The method chosen is qualitative research with a single case study approach (Yin, 1995). Data on the process and practice of transparent communication, as well as communication transparency attributes (substantive information, participation, accountability, secrecy) were collected through content analysis on two websites managed by the Sleman District Government; and in-depth interviews with staffs and Secretaries of the Communication and Information Agency (five informen) with an interview guide instrument.</p><p>Research results are as follows: 1) The process<strong> </strong>of establishing transparent organizational communication in the Sleman Regency Government was initially top-down and slow, from the Government to the citizen. Over time, the process of being "bottom up" increase in speed. Plastic waste threatens Indonesia tourism industry in mountain areas. The government stated that the continuously increasing plastic waste threatens to ruin Indonesia’s tourism sector. Mineral water industry is one of the government’s primary focuses in its plastic waste reduction. As Indonesia’s largest plastic-bottled mineral water brand, Aqua is pledging to remove more plastic from the environment than it uses by 2025. The purpose of the research is to get descriptive analysis of how company can manage its stakeholder engagement for reducing plastic waste in Indonesia. This research employed qualitative discourse analysis method with case study around Aqua’s efforts for reducing plastic waste in Indonesia and data collected from digital media. The principal results of the research show that Aqua made good collaboration between the Trashbag Community Indonesia, The Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and media journalists on the program “ Sapu Jagad 2017 “ by removing 5 tons of rubbish from Indonesia’s mountains. UGG Ciletuh Palabuhanratu, is a very wide area with diverse socio-cultural diversity at the surrounding community, namely those who still adhere to the customs and social life of a more modern culture; so that the environment of the Ciletuh palabuharatu UGG experienced problems and constraints related to the myths and modern life of its people. The impact of becoming the Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark, which is a member of Unesco Global Network, the area must preserve the geological heritage for present and future generations. This research was conducted in the community assisted by CSR of PT Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit II Sungai Pakning located in Sungai Pakning Village, Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. This research method uses qualitative methods by collecting data through participant observation. The results of this study indicate that the participatory development communication approach carried out by PT Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit II Sungai Pakning CSR in carrying out forest and land fire mitigation activities is carried out through four stages of participatory communication namely heteroglosia, polyphony, dialogue and carnival. These groups are actively fighting for animal rights, protection, and conservation while continuing to expand the influence and attract new members through various channels, especially social media. This article seeks to see the contribution of the social media strategy used by animal rights groups to the three basic elements of a social movement: collective identity, actual mobilization, and network organization. How social media, especially Facebook and Instagram, are used by animal rights groups to achieve their ultimate goal as a social movement. The farmer blamed as the main agent of forest damage the leuser ecosystem, while the Government never gave a capacity of forest management with good to society. The rhetorical tradition is used to review this problem. The focus of rhetoric has been extended to include all human ways in using symbols to influence the surrounding in building the world in where they live. The concept used in applying the rhetoric theory in the case that occurred in Jepara was environmental communication which would analyze cases of environmental pollution caused by industrial waste and abrasion caused by iron sand mining. The pragmatic function of environmental communication leads to educational, persuasion, mobilizing, and warning to overcome environmental problems. This research was a study of literature by searching for references to theories related to cases or problems which are found. References to theories obtained through the research of study of literature become the basic foundation and main means in analyzing problems in the research. Now, the condition of the Citarum river is very dirty, full of household waste, manufactory waste, human waste, medical equipment waste, and cattle manure from cow milking factories. The Citarum river is used as a source of life in some iirigated areas, so the damage condition of the Citarum river environment is very apprehensive. Now, there are no more fish that live in the Citarum river flow because of the high lead and chemical poisons due to factory waste being dumped into the river. In fact, one well-known newspaper reported that fish in the Jatiluhur dam are now polluted with lead waste which is dangerous if consumed by humans.</span><span lang="EN-US">Given the importance of preserving the Citarum river, various movements to save Citarum began, both by the government, the private sector, environmentalists and academics.</span></pre><pre><span lang="EN-US">This study explores the forms of environmental communication in the Harum Citarum Program made by the government, specifically by the Ministry of Higher Education Research (kemenristekdikti), with case studies on communities on the edge Citarum River of Cicendo District and Cibeunying Kaler District, Bandung City. This researsh use of qualitative paradigm with case study method. Data collection research uses in-depth interviews, observations involved and literature studies. The purpose of this research is to support the Harum Citarum Program made by the government, through deepening the character of the community and finding the right form of communication in preserving the Citarum River. The results showed that the local wisdom of the river edge community in Cicendo Subdistrict with Cibeunying Kaler Subdistrict community had very different characters which influenced the public perception in both regions of the pollution and repair of the Citarum river environment. Population used in this research are SMKN 4 Yogyakarta aged 15 to 18 years who has marger of This research method using Quantitative research methods of empirical research methods by means of Surveys using a questionnaire to respondents. The number of samples from this research is as much as 68 students from 212 class 2 and class 3 Department of Hairstyling and Hairstyling Skin SMKN 4 Yogyakarta and the relevant theory used in this research is the theory of the S-R and Theory AIDDA.</p><p> </p><p> The results of this study are Amount between t count the effect of X on Y1 and X on Y2, that is (4.899 + 2,559) / 2 = 3.724 and the sum of the value of p (+ 0,000 0.013) / 2 = 0.006. Thus, the value of t obtained in synchronous (F) is 3.724 and p 0.006. The purpose of this study is to examine social media’s role in propagating influence on spreading LGBT movements in Malaysia. Malaysia is a conservative country; therefore, LGBT is considered to be as a tabooed subject in which LGBT community has kept their community hidden among the citizens in Malaysia. LGBT movements are limited and small and they depend on social media to propagate the movements. The usage of hashtags in social media has been a way of promoting and communication among the LGBT community in Malaysia in hopes of spreading LGBT movements in Malaysia. Seksualiti Merdeka is one such LGBT movement in Malaysia along with #LoveWins movement to seek acceptance towards the ideology of LGBT among the society in Malaysia. A qualitative phenomenological study is done towards 10 respondents along with the observation within social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for posts that is related to LGBT movements. Results are then recorded, transcribed and analyzed. The interview for the data was conducted on 1<sup>st</sup> January to 10<sup>th</sup> of January. This study is based on secondary data collected, which means that the researcher has gathered data from other scholars using the interpretive social science paradigm. This study investigates best practice at the national museum in Medina city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by identifying the values of the site and analysing motivational factors that attract tourists. In addition, the study identifies the stakeholders in the Madinah region and investigates the preservation strategies on the site and the current state of the restoration process by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage. This study also analyses the marketing strategies of the site and will identify best practice for promoting the site for both local and international tourists. This qualitative study is investigating university students’ age 18 to 29 years, using semi-structured interview questions. 10 informants will be selected from this study. The sampling technique is a non-probability sampling. The qualitative method is selected due to the appropriateness of the study matter as it adds depth, details, and meaning. The study is exploring the lived experience of students toward Instagram consumption and identified the outcome of the dysfunctional satisfaction. Peter Bialobrzeski haes taken some photographs in Jakarta, Indonesia have won the second rank at World Press Photo competition in the 2009 Nature Stories category. These photos could have a representation of public space. Semiotics is used to reading on the photos. Semiotic have two forms reading: denotation and connotation. Denotation is a verbal picture reading based on what is contained in the image. The connotation is reading the picture of the constituent elements of the photo. Intertextuality act as "proof" of reading by researchers that the photo has a meaning that has a foundation of knowledge. Another focus is to save the endemic animal populations of Javan langurs in Muara Gembong that are threatened as a result of the decline of Javan langur habitat and threats from illegal hunting.</p><p> The method used in this study using descriptive qualitative study approach. In this study using data collection techniques, namely data interviews by interviewing SaveMugo volunteers and Pokdarwis Alipbata representatives and direct observations in Muara Gembong, as well as secondary data in the form of library studies</p><p> The results show that SaveMugo as the implementer of the Save Muara Gembong movement performs the management stage. At this stage SaveMugo's planning campaign in analyzing problems was carried out by conducting a survey to investigate what problems were occurring in Muara Gembong and the facts on the ground, the aim was to restore the function of mangroves and maintain the population of Javan Lutung primates, the target of this campaign was everyone from the local community to the government, to the strategy by establishing Pokdarwis Alipbata sedangan for sources of funds derived from private activities, government and ecotourism. In this organizing stage the campaign was to carry out the division of labor in which the division of tasks and work was carried out by the ability of each field. In the implementation phase of the campaign run the realization of elements of the campaign such as recruitment of volunteer candidates conducted every year and conduct training to prospective volunteers. To select campaign deliverers, prioritize experienced volunteers involving Alipbata Pokdarwis, for campaign channels using new media such as the internet and conventional media, as well as action and campaign monitoring to see how far the program has taken place. In the evaluation stage because this campaign is still in the process, the evaluation is carried out not only based on the response but also on what action is taken.
